Bless: Privacy Policy
Last updated: 22.10.2026
Your details are given to me in trust, and I treat them that way. This page explains what I collect, why, and what you can do about it.
1. Who is responsible for your data
Two organisations act as the “data controller”, depending on what you’ve booked:
Ashlyn Gibson, trading as Bless, a sole trader at 8a Powell Road, London, E5 8DJ, for the Bless Stories shop, sound baths, retreats, coaching, workshops, gatherings, the newsletter and this website.
Laundry Productions Ltd, 10287215, registered office 8a Powell Road, London, E5 8DJ, for Bless Cabin bookings.
Questions about your data can go to hello@blessstories.com. It reaches both.
2. What I collect
Details you give me: name, email, phone number, postal address, and anything you write in an enquiry or booking form.
Booking and order details: what you booked or bought, dates, guest numbers and any requests (such as dietary needs).
Payment details: card payments are handled by our payment providers ([Squarespace Payments / Stripe / PayPal]). I never see or store your full card number.
Wellbeing information: for sound baths, retreats and coaching, you may choose to tell me about things like pregnancy, a medical device or how you’re feeling, so I can look after you properly. This is sensitive information, and I only ask for what is needed for your safety and comfort.
Photos and recordings: only where you’ve been told in advance or have agreed (see Section 6 of the Terms).
Website data: pages visited, device and browser type and approximate location, collected through cookies and analytics.
3. Why I use it, and my lawful basis
To deliver what you’ve booked or bought: confirming bookings, taking payment, sending order updates, handling returns.
To keep you safe I hold your explicit consent for health information, which you can withdraw at any time.
To send news, offers and event invitations should you consent and join the mailing list. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
To keep records and meet legal duties, such as accounting and tax.
To run and improve the website and business such as understanding which pages are useful, preventing fraud and keeping things secure.
4. Who I share it with
Only people who help me deliver what you’ve asked for:
Website, payment and booking providers, Squarespace, Stripe, PayPal, Free To Book.
Email service providers Squarespace Email Campaigns.
Couriers and delivery partners for shop orders.
Accountants and professional advisers.
Authorities, where the law requires it.
I never sell your data. Some of these providers are based outside the UK. Where that happens, I rely on safeguards such as the UK’s approved international data transfer arrangements.
5. How long I keep it
Booking and order records: 6 years, for tax and accounting.
Wellbeing information: only as long as needed for the session or programme, then securely deleted, normally within 12 months.
Newsletter details: until you unsubscribe.
Enquiries that don’t lead to a booking: up to 12 months.
6. Cookies and analytics
This website uses cookies to work properly and to understand how people use it. You can accept or decline non-essential cookies through the banner on your first visit, and change your choice at any time. You can also block cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the site may not work as well.
7. Your rights
You have the right to:
see the information I hold about you,
have it corrected or deleted,
restrict or object to how I use it,
receive a copy in a portable format,
withdraw consent at any time, for anything you opted into.
Email hello@blessstories.com and I’ll respond within one month. If you’re unhappy with how I’ve handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. I’d welcome the chance to put things right first.
8. Children
My services are intended for adults. Where a young person joins a session or stays at the Cabin, a parent or guardian books on their behalf, and I don’t knowingly collect data directly from under-16s.
9. Security
I use reputable providers and sensible safeguards to protect your information. No online system is completely risk-free, but I take care to keep yours safe.
10. Changes
If I update this policy, the new version will appear here with a new date.
