Days unfold around woodland and water: long walks where wild deer wander through the trees, waterskiing and wakeboarding in season, or freshwater dips in the River Nar. Think slow breakfasts, long lunches, cooking together, and evenings that stretch late into candlelight and conversation. Retreat to the deck to immerse yourself in the pink art deco bath, run it cool on summer days and warm as the Autumn days arrive. Once you’re here, you barely need to get back in the car.

Step outside and you’re immediately in nature. Within five minutes on foot you can wander into West Bilney Woods for peaceful forest walks, or have a dreamy walk following the gentle flow of the River Nar.. It’s the simplest kind of luxury, walking straight from your door and letting the day unfold.

If you feel like adding a touch of spa energy to your stay, the much-loved independent spa Energise is just a five-minute drive away, with an outdoor thermo pool, indoor pool, sauna and steam rooms.

Inside, light pours through vast windows and huge bifold doors that open wide to the lake, creating seamless indoor-outdoor living. Treetops frame the water while the inspired interiors blend natural plywood, contemporary and handcrafted textiles with a joyous and inspired colour palette.

With three bedrooms sleeping up to six, it’s ideal for couples, families or friends gathering together. The airy open-plan living space is made for slow mornings, shared meals and long evenings.

When you’re ready to explore head to Castle Acre for a gentle walk beside the chalk stream through an Area of Special Scientific Interest. Make for the West Norfolk beaches for glowing evening skies and excellent birdwatching, with wading birds, geese and marsh harriers often spotted along the shoreline.. Venture a little further afield and the North Norfolk coast rewards you with vast horizons and wide beaches.. Then return home to stillness, stepping outside to take in the wide, starry Norfolk skies at night.

  • Minimum 2-night min stay and 3 nights over Christmas and New Year.,

  • £100 refundable security deposit is required (£200 if your stay includes a dog)

  • We welcome one dog per booking for a £50 supplement
