A vintage kantha quilt with an exceptional level of kantha stitch work. In addition to standard rows of kantha stitching this quilt features 35 vibrant red floral motifs with an orange centre that are visible on both sides of the kantha and additional intricate edge stitch work. Kantha stitching is generally in white but this quilt has been given an almost contemporary lift through the almost neon yellow stitch work. A block printed design in charcoal grey, faded coral and yellow on one side contrasts again the vibrant purple on the reverse.
The quilt is made using the age old process of upcycling and patching together old cotton saris and sheets. Made from 2 layers of vintage fabric each kantha has a front and a back making it a verstaile textile for your home. The fabrics of this stunning quilt are block printed on one side and and tie dyed on the reverse.
Use this as a quilt on a bed, a sofa, a wall hanging or use it as fabric to make your own totally unique creation.
